In the morning I went from home to the market.

 மீனா —  நண்பியோடு பேருந்தில் போனேன். கையால் காய்கறிகளைத் தேர்ந்தெடுத்தேன். 
I went with a friend by bus. I chose the vegetables by hand.  
 நண்பி —  அம்மாவுக்குக் கொடுத்தாயா? 
Did you give them to your mother?  
 மீனா —  ஆம், அம்மாவுக்குக் கொடுத்தேன். எனக்கு மிக்க மகிழ்ச்சி. 
Yes, I gave them to my mother. I'm very happy.

ஒரே கதையில் எல்லா வேற்றுமைகளும் வந்தன: வீட்டிலிருந்து (5, நீங்கல்), சந்தைக்கு (4, கு), பேருந்தில் (7, இடம்/வாகனம்), நண்பியோடு (3, உடன்), கையால் (3, கருவி), காய்கறிகளை (2, ஐ), அம்மாவுக்கு (4, கு), எனக்கு (4, கு-எழுவாய்).

One little story used the whole system: வீட்டிலிருந்து (ablative, from), சந்தைக்கு (dative, to), பேருந்தில் (locative, by/at), நண்பியோடு (sociative, with), கையால் (instrumental, by hand), காய்கறிகளை (accusative, the object), அம்மாவுக்கு (dative, to), எனக்கு (dative experiencer, “I'm happy”).

ஒரு வினா ஒவ்வொரு வேற்றுமைக்கும்: என்னை? → ஐ. எதனால்/யாருடன்? → ஆல்/ஓடு. யாருக்கு/எங்கே நோக்கி? → கு. எங்கே? → இல். எங்கிருந்து? → இலிருந்து. யாருடைய? → உடைய/இன். அழைப்பு → விளி.

Lock it in with a question for each case: என்ன(ஐ)? → -ai (object); எதனால்/யாருடன்? → -āl/-ōṭu (with); யாருக்கு/எங்கே நோக்கி? → -ku (to/for); எங்கே? → -il (at); எங்கிருந்து? → -il iruntu (from); யாருடைய? → -uṭaiya/-in (whose); calling → விளி (vocative).

ஒடிசல் வடிவத்தை மறக்காதீர்கள்: வீடு → வீட்டு-, மரம் → மரத்து-, ஊர் → ஊரு-, ஆறு → ஆற்று-. அதே வடிவத்தின்மேல் எல்லா ஈறுகளும் அழகாக அமரும்.

And never forget the oblique stem: வீடு → வீட்டு-, மரம் → மரத்து-, ஊர் → ஊரு-, ஆறு → ஆற்று-. Get the stem right and every ending — ஐ, கு, இல், ஆல், இலிருந்து, இன் — settles neatly on top of it.
