தமிழ் வினாச் சொற்கள் பெரும்பாலும் எ- அல்லது யா- என்று தொடங்கும்: யார், என்ன, எங்கே, எப்போது, எப்படி, ஏன், எத்தனை.

Most Tamil question words start with எ- (or யா-). Learn the core set: யார் who, என்ன what, எங்கே where, எப்போது when, எப்படி how, ஏன் why, எத்தனை how many.

“யார்” மக்களுக்கு (உயர்திணை); “என்ன” பொருள்களுக்கு (அஃறிணை). எனவே “இவர் யார்?” ஆனால் “இது என்ன?”.

Use யார் for people (rational class, உயர்திணை) and என்ன for things (irrational class, அஃறிணை). So இவர் யார்? = “who is this (person)?” but இது என்ன? = “what is this (thing)?”

பயன்படுத்து · Use it

ஒவ்வொரு வினாச்சொல்லைக் கொண்டும் ஒரு வினா உருவாக்குங்கள் — “இது என்ன?”, “பள்ளி எங்கே?”, “இவர் யார்?”.

Make one question with each word: இது என்ன? பள்ளி எங்கே? இவர் யார்? Notice யார் for people, என்ன for things.
