விளக்கம் · Explanation

ஒருவரை விவரிக்க இவ்வரிசை உதவும்: தோற்றம் (உயரமான, அழகான) → உடை (… அணிந்த) → செயல் (… கொண்டு). “சிவப்புச் சட்டை அணிந்த பையன்” — பெயரெச்சம் உடையை விவரிக்கிறது.

To describe a person, follow this order: appearance (உயரமான tall, அழகான beautiful) → clothing (… அணிந்த wearing …) → action (… கொண்டு). சிவப்புச் சட்டை அணிந்த பையன் = the boy wearing a red shirt — the participle does the describing.

ஒரு செயலைச் செய்துகொண்டே என்று சொல்ல “-கொண்டு” சேருங்கள்: சிரித்துக்கொண்டு (while smiling), பேசிக்கொண்டு (while talking). இடம் சொல்ல: “மேலே, கீழே, அருகில், பின்னணியில்.”

To say ‘while doing’, add -கொண்டு: சிரித்துக்கொண்டு (smiling), பேசிக்கொண்டு (talking). For position use மேலே (above), கீழே (below), அருகில் (beside), பின்னணியில் (in the background).
