 ஆசிரியர் —  ஒரு முயலும் ஒரு ஆமையும் பந்தயம் வைத்தன. 
A hare and a tortoise made a bet.  
 முயல் —  நான் மிக வேகமானவன். நீ எப்படி வெல்வாய்? 
I am very fast. How will you win?  
 ஆசிரியர் —  பந்தயம் தொடங்கியது. முயல் வேகமாக ஓடியது; ஆமை மெதுவாக நடந்தது. 
The race began. The hare ran fast; the tortoise walked slowly.  
 ஆசிரியர் —  முயல் களைத்து ஒரு மரத்தடியில் தூங்கிவிட்டது. அந்நேரத்தில் ஆமை தொடர்ந்து நடந்தது. 
The hare got tired and fell asleep under a tree. Meanwhile the tortoise kept walking.  
 ஆசிரியர் —  இறுதியில் ஆமை முதலில் வந்து வென்றது. முயல் தோற்றது. 
In the end the tortoise arrived first and won. The hare lost.  

விளக்கம் · Explanation

கதையை ஒழுங்காகச் சொல்லக் கால இணைப்புச் சொற்கள் தேவை: “முதலில், பிறகு, அந்நேரத்தில், இறுதியில்.” இவை நிகழ்வுகளை ஒன்றன் பின் ஒன்றாக அடுக்குகின்றன.

To tell a story in order you need sequencing words: முதலில் (first), பிறகு (then), அந்நேரத்தில் (meanwhile), இறுதியில் (finally). They line up the events one after another.

இரண்டு அஃறிணை உயிரினங்கள் சேர்ந்தால் வினை “-அன” என்று பன்மையில் வரும்: “பந்தயம் வைத்தன.” ஒன்று மட்டும் என்றால் -அது: “ஆமை வென்றது.”

When two non-rational creatures act together, the verb takes the plural -அன: வைத்தன (they made [a bet]). For just one, use -அது: வென்றது (it won).
