There was heavy traffic on the road; the bus came late.

நகர வாழ்க்கையின் ஒரு வழக்கமான நாள்: காலை அவசரம், சாலை நெரிசல், அலுவலக வேலை, மாலை களைப்பு. நேரச் சொற்களைக் கவனியுங்கள்: காலை, மதியம், மாலை, இரவு.

A typical city day: a rushed morning, road traffic, office work, an evening's tiredness. Note the time words: காலை (morning), மதியம் (noon), மாலை (evening), இரவு (night).

நகரத்தின் வேகத்தில் கவனம் முக்கியம். பழமொழி: “ஆற்றில் போனாலும் காலைக் கழுவு” — பெரிய ஆற்றிலேயே இறங்கினாலும் கால் கழுவ வேண்டும்; எங்கிருந்தாலும் கவனமாக, சுத்தமாக இரு என்று பொருள்.

In the city's rush, care matters. Proverb: ஆற்றில் போனாலும் காலைக் கழுவு — 'even if you step into the river, still wash your feet'; be careful and proper wherever you are.
